About Us

Mission
The purpose of IGA is to provide year round training opportunities to goalkeepers of all levels in an effort to create an optimal environment which fosters individual development. IGA training programs allow for the technical, tactical, physical, and psychological qualities of the goalkeeper to be enhanced and refined through specialized, challenging, and age appropriate training. IGA director Gary Yohe works to develop hundreds of goalkeepers each year, from recreational to collegiate athletes. The IGA staff is committed to helping committed players realize their potential and reach their desired level of performance.

Gary Yohe - Owner/Director

Coach Yohe currently serves in the following roles:

Kurt Smalley - Staff Coach

A graduate of Anderson University, Kurt earned four varsity letters as a goalkeeper for the Ravens. He was part of the 2004 team that earned a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season championship.

Kurt has been coaching goalkeepers for over five years with various Indiana clubs as well as The Indiana Goalkeeper Academy.  This past year he was an assistant at Wabash College as goalkeeper coach.

Raised in Gahanna, Ohio, Smalley was a three-year letter winner at Gahanna Lincoln High School and was the team co-captain his senior year.

Smalley finished his undergraduate studies in 2007 and received his MBA from Anderson in 2008.

Coach Smalley currently resides in Fishers with his wife, Becca. He also works full-time for Em-Roe Sporting Goods in Indianapolis as Sales Manager. He still plays for Orange FC in the CIASA.


 

 

Rob Coonfield - Staff Coach

Rob currently is the Goalkeeping/Assistant Coach at Guerin Catholic Women’s Soccer program and will be working as a goalkeeper trainer for Carmel United Soccer Club. He holds an USSF E License and is looking to enroll in a NSCAA State Goalkeeping License class in the spring/summer. Rob grew up in Brownsburg, IN. His playing career while in high school consisted of playing for Brownsburg High school and Carmel United Inferno.

After graduating in '03, Coach Coonfield walked on to IUPUI Men's Soccer Team. After one year, he transfered to Indiana Wesleyan University to finish his playing career where he was captain and chaplin his Junior and Senior year. At IWU, he earned NCCAA Midwest All-Region, NCCAA All-American First Team, and NAIA Champions of Character Award during for the 2006-07 season.

Since graduating Rob has coached for IWU as a volunteer coach, Hoosier F.C., Fusion Soccer Club, and does private goalkeeping training. In addition to his coaching, Coach Coonfield works as a firefighter for the Zionsville Fire Department and is a Substitute teacher at St. Mary’s Child Center.


 

Brandon Cook - Staff Coach

Brandon is a native of Indianapolis, graduating from Ben Davis High School in 2002 and Indiana University in 2006 with a BA degree, Spanish major.  While there he was a member of the IU Club Soccer team, serving as Vice-President for his last 2 years.  He holds a USSF "D" license.

In addition to being a trainer with the IGA, Brandon also serves in these current roles:

Franklin College - Assistant Coach, Goalkeeping Coach

Westside United - Director of Goalkeeping, Head Coach Boys 96' White
